Saudi Arabia’s Diriyah announces 16 additional hotels in hospitality portfolio
The introduction of new hotels brings the number of openings to 32, with the first hotel scheduled to debut in 2023.
Saudi Arabia aims to become one of the top 10 tourist destinations in the world, attracting 100 million by 2030. Now, Diriyah Gate Development Authority (DGDA), responsible for building Diriyah, has announced that 16 different global hotel brands will join its hospitality portfolio.
The 16 hotel brands slated to open in Diriyah and Wadi Safar include properties from the Minor Hotels subsidiary Anantara in Thailand, Corinthia Hotels, Marriott International’s Edition Hotels, Taj Hotels, The Langham, Waldorf Astoria, 1 Hotels, Pendry Hotels and Resorts, Treehouse Hotel, Hyatt Place, Radisson Hotel Group’s Radisson RED, and The Langham.
The introduction of the 16 new hotels brings the number of openings to 32, with the first hotel scheduled to debut in 2023.
The first phase of the hotel building in Diriyah will incorporate traditional Najdi design elements into its infrastructure, while the second phase will offer a more advanced Najdi design experience.
“We are excited to further Diriyah’s position as Saudi Arabia’s historical and cultural epicenter by bringing international hoteliers to operate within Diriyah. Each hotel brand offers a special, distinctive experience for visitors, all united by a shared promise to provide a unique set of high-quality services measured to global standards for all of Diriyah’s guests,” said Jerry Inzerillo, group CEO of DGDA.
At-Turaif, a UNESCO World Heritage Site regarded as Saudi Arabia’s birthplace, and Bujairi Terrace, the nation’s premier dining location with a view of At-Turaif, have been announced as Diriyah’s two most significant openings.
