New Murabba reveals stadium design for FIFA World Cup 2034
The stadium is set to be completed by the end of 2032
A world-class, futuristic football stadium will be built in Riyadh.
The New Murabba Development Company—backed by Saudi Arabia’s sovereign wealth fund, PIF—revealed the design plans for the new Murabba Stadium to be completed by the end of 2032, well ahead of the FIFA World Cup 2034, which the kingdom will host.
Inspired by the acacia tree, the stadium blends traditional motifs with modern design and will feature cutting-edge sporting technology.
The stadium will be a community hub featuring illuminated entry points and shaded spaces for gathering and socializing, the SPA reported.
“The New Murabba Stadium embodies our commitment to transforming Riyadh into a global destination for sports and entertainment,” said Michael Dyke, CEO of New Murabba Development Company.
Upon completion, the stadium will host various events, from sports to gaming competitions and exhibitions, with a capacity for 45,000 spectators.
The stadium will also add to the New Murabba downtown destination in Riyadh, extending over 19 million square meters and aiming to have more than 80 entertainment and cultural areas for 420,000 residents.
