Dubai’s new Sky Map enhances safety and sustainability in aviation sector
The tool aims to enhance the safety and efficiency of air operations in Dubai.
On the second day of GITEX Global 2024, Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, chairman of the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, Dubai Airports, and Emirates Airline and Group, unveiled a new tool designed to improve oversight of the civil aviation sector in Dubai’s airspace. The first phase of the unified Dubai Sky Map consolidates all maps related to DCAA services into a single system, facilitating the tracking of air transport vehicles, cranes, and more.
Mohammed Abdulla Lengawi, Director General of DCAA, said, “The launch of the first phase of the Dubai Sky Map highlights a commitment to promoting innovation in the aviation sector and marks a significant step towards a safer and more sustainable future for the industry. We recognize that safety and security are the foundations of all our operations, and we continuously strive to develop solutions that align with global trends and best practices,”
The launch of the Dubai Sky Map aligns with the DCAA’s commitment to innovation and improving airspace management.
“Through our participation at GITEX, we aim to showcase various smart initiatives and modern services to visitors and businesses while strengthening collaboration with government and private entities. This contributes to supporting sustainable development and improving the quality of life in Dubai,” he added.
At GITEX, DCAA will highlight the advantages of the Dubai Sky Map along with other innovative projects and technologies.
