Mohammed Bin Rashid Aerospace Hub partners with IER MRO Industries to launch advanced engine test facility
The facility is set for completion in two phases, Q4 2026 and Q3 2027.
The Mohammed Bin Rashid Aerospace Hub (MBRAH), Dubai’s dedicated aerospace platform focused on boosting the aviation sector, has signed an agreement with International Energy Resources (IER) to establish a maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) facility in Dubai South.
The facility, which spans 880,000 square feet, will offer services such as gas turbine engine component manufacturing, engine repairs, overhauls, and performance testing. It will also feature an engine test cell designed to assess both Aero Engines and Aero-Derivative Industrial Engines, with an initial capacity to test up to 50 engines annually.
The facility’s development will occur in two phases, with completion dates for Q4 2026 and Q3 2027. Tahnoon Saif, CEO of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Aerospace Hub, emphasized that this project aims to strengthen their partnerships, further solidifying Dubai’s standing in the global aviation industry.
Larry J. Howie, Chairman and CEO of IER MRO Industries DWC LLC, highlighted that the collaboration would enhance their capabilities, enabling them to deliver maintenance and repair solutions that meet and surpass top-tier quality and efficiency standards.
