Egypt is positioning itself as a key player in the global economy by attracting foreign investment, fostering innovation, and promoting sustainable development. Recently, Egypt and DP World formed a strategic partnership to develop a new public free zone within the New Administrative Capital. This ambitious project aims to draw substantial foreign direct investment, stimulate economic growth, and establish Egypt as a regional trade and logistics hub.

The free zone, strategically located within the New Administrative Capital, will offer businesses a range of incentives and benefits, including tax breaks, customs exemptions, and streamlined regulatory procedures. The focus will be attracting investment in key electronics, automotive, apparel, and footwear sectors.

DP World will contribute its extensive expertise and global network to the project. The company will play a crucial role in developing the infrastructure and logistics facilities within the free zone, including building warehouses, distribution centers, and cold storage facilities and establishing efficient customs clearance procedures.

The strategic location of the New Administrative Capital, close to major seaports and international airports, will enhance the free zone’s appeal. The government’s commitment to improving infrastructure and streamlining regulations will foster a favorable business environment for investors.

By leveraging the strengths of both Egypt and DP World, the new free zone is expected to become a major economic driver for the country. It will contribute to job creation, increased exports, and technology transfer. Moreover, the project will help diversify Egypt’s economy and reduce its reliance on traditional industries.

As Egypt continues to implement economic reforms and open up to foreign investment, developing this new free zone represents a significant step forward. In addition to the free zone project, Egypt and the UAE have also formalized a MoU to establish a new logistics zone in the Mediterranean region.

This initiative aims to capitalize on the growing demand for logistics services in the region and strengthen Egypt’s position as a regional trade hub.
