Sharjah’s SCTA partners with BEEAH and Khazna to build tier 3 data centers
The data center will prioritize renewable energy, exploring waste-to-energy solutions, greywater recycling, and other technologies.
In a move set to propel the emirate’s digital transformation, the Sharjah Communication Technologies Authority (SCTA) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with a joint venture between BEEAH and Khazna Data Centers (Khazna). This collaboration aims to establish a network of Tier 3 data centers across Sharjah, with the first and largest one planned for Kalba.
Under the terms of the MoU, SCTA will oversee regulatory matters, secure land leases, and ensure the necessary power infrastructure and connectivity for the data centers. Meanwhile, Khazna and BEEAH will bring their combined expertise to develop state-of-the-art, sustainable digital infrastructure.
Rashid Ali Al Ali of SCTA described the MoU as a key milestone for Sharjah, positioning the emirate to build an advanced digital infrastructure that aligns with the UAE’s vision of becoming a global leader in AI and digital technology.
To further enhance sustainability, the partnership will explore waste-to-energy power solutions, greywater recycling, and other technologies to reduce energy use and maintenance while maximizing uptime.
