Good design answers problems we did not know we had and makes the obvious work better. That practical focus underpins the second Innovation By Design Summit, which returns on September 24, 2025, to the Mandarin Oriental Doha—hosted in partnership with Msheireb Properties, Doha Design District,  Media City Qatar, and Floward. Building on last year’s momentum, the summit brings together leading designers to share hands-on approaches that turn ideas into impact across business, technology, and society.

The 2025 summit will feature a diverse lineup of speakers redefining design across architecture, art, technology, and media. Among the highlights are Abdulaziz AlHumaidhi, Principal of AlHumaidhi Architects, known for his culturally rooted and sustainable approach that is reshaping Kuwait’s built environment, and Jean Paul Sebuhayi Uwase, Principal, a global leader in community-driven design with a focus on social impact. Their work highlights how design can address real-world challenges while shaping communities and experiences.

Adding a bold artistic perspective, Aya Tarek, the Alexandria-based multidisciplinary artist and 2024 UNESCO-Sharjah Award laureate, will discuss her projects spanning murals, film, and public art. Aziza Chaouni, celebrated for her award-winning sustainable projects in the Global South, including the restoration of Morocco’s Qarawiyine Library, will also take the stage, highlighting how architecture and design intersect with cultural heritage and environmental responsibility.

From the world of branding and media, Debbie Millman brings her experience as an author, educator, and host of the influential Design Matters podcast. She will be joined by Jeroen van der Most, known as MOST, an artist exploring AI and quantum computing in creative practice. Together, they showcase how design and technology intersect to redefine creative expression.

Samar Maakaroun, Partner at Pentagram, adds a perspective that bridges cultures with a typographically rich design approach, examining the intersections of Arab and British identities through language, branding, and visual storytelling. Complementing this, Yusra Youssif, also known as Ossaa, highlights culture and identity through her work as a content creator and podcast host. Content Creator Manal Marvelous, known for her bold ideas and ability to bring a fresh perspective to complex challenges, will join the lineup. 

The Innovation by Design Summit continues to grow as a platform where visionary thinkers and creators explore how design shapes the future. By connecting creativity, technology, and strategy, the summit demonstrates the transformative power of design to drive innovation, sustainability, and meaningful change across industries and communities.
