A strong supporter of gender diversity, Kalban is committed to changing the male-dominated aluminum industry by increasing the proportion of women in all roles at EGA — from board-level to blue-collar.

Kalban is a board member of the International Aluminium Institute, the Gulf Aluminium Council, and the Emirates Research and Development Council. In 2023, Kalban was appointed UAE International Investors Council board member.
