Drawing on his decades of experience in global technology leadership and business strategies, Dr. Ray O. Johnson has pushed the Technology Innovation Institute (TII), the applied research pillar of Abu Dhabi’s Advanced Technology Research Council (ATRC), to pioneer R&D breakthroughs across emerging technologies, which is helping to drive solutions to some of society’s most pressing challenges.

Among his many achievements in TII are the launch of the electromagnetic compatibility laboratories for high-energy laser and microwave testing, the development of Noor, the world’s largest Arabic natural language processing model, and the building of the UAE’s first sovereign cryptography libraries. He is a sought-after speaker at global forums. He is also CEO of ASPIRE, the business development and program management arm of ATRC.
