A guide to writing a standout application for the Innovation in Design Awards 2025
Design the future. Get noticed.

Behind every great design is hard work. Getting recognized for it is much easier. The deadline for the Innovation in Design Awards 2025 is August 22, and to improve your chances of being recognized among this year’s winners, we encourage you to submit your entry.
Now in its second year, the awards feature a range of categories that spotlight the most impactful work across the region. If your design has created meaningful change, take a moment to review our suggestions on how to approach your application effectively.
Lead with the strongest achievement
Don’t bury the highlight of your project deep in the application. Start with the clearest, most impactful result. Whether it’s an industry-first, a measurable market shift, or a cultural breakthrough, the opening lines should immediately establish why your work stands out.
Focus on one project per entry
While it’s tempting to include every design success, entries that try to cover too much often lose focus. Choose the single project that best fits the category and use the complete application to detail its strengths, outcomes, and relevance.
Write with clarity
Avoid technical or marketing-heavy language that could obscure your innovation. Clear, straightforward writing makes it easier for the editorial team to understand your work quickly and appreciate its impact.
Provide context before the solution
Explain the problem or challenge first. Outlining the context, whether market gaps, user needs, or sustainability goals, sets the stage for why your design matters. This makes the innovation more compelling.
Support claims with strong visuals
Images can strengthen your story. Select visuals that clearly show the design in use, the scale of implementation, or before-and-after comparisons. The right images make an application more engaging and memorable.
If your work pushes boundaries and shapes the future of design, now is the time to apply.
