Abu Dhabi launches fully automated Power of Attorney service
The automated service covers a wide range of PoAs including those related to litigation, inheritance, transactions, intellectual property, and more.
Abu Dhabi has launched the region’s first fully automated Power of Attorney (PoA) issuance service, marking a new milestone in the emirate’s digital transformation drive.
The Abu Dhabi Judicial Department (ADJD) said the service, integrated into its digital Notary platform, enables users to issue PoAs instantly, around the clock, without any human involvement. The initiative is part of Abu Dhabi’s broader push to expand smart, end-to-end government services.
Users can obtain PoAs through the ADJD website by logging in with UAE Pass, selecting from pre-approved templates, and receiving digitally certified documents without the need for appointments or video calls.
The automated service covers a wide range of PoAs for individuals and organizations, including those related to litigation, inheritance, transactions, shares, intellectual property, vehicles, attorney authorization, signature verification, and automatic cancellation. Users can also modify authorities within the approved templates, with documents available in both Arabic and English.
Yousef Saeed Al Abri, Undersecretary of the ADJD, stated that the move reflects the directives of Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, Chairman of the Presidential Court, and Chairman of the ADJD, to enhance judicial services through advanced digital tools. He stated that the automated system enhances institutional efficiency, accelerates service delivery, and strengthens Abu Dhabi’s competitiveness.
Al Abri noted that the digital PoA service represents a major step toward simplified and secure judicial processes, offering users a completely electronic journey supported by high-level verification measures designed to reduce bureaucracy and improve the customer experience.
According to ADJD, the system operates under strict controls to ensure accuracy and integrity, requiring UAE Pass authentication and restricting issuance to original parties. PoAs can be verified instantly or cancelled at any time online, supporting wider government efforts to streamline procedures and improve service efficiency.
