To make data more available, accessible, and impactful than ever, the Department of Government Support has launched the Abu Dhabi Data Program to deliver a data-driven transformation for the Abu Dhabi government.

The launch is a part of Abu Dhabi Digital Authority (ADDA)’s participation in GITEX Global 2022 under the aegis of the Abu Dhabi Government Pavilion, housed in the Dubai World Trade Center, and features over 30 government and academic organizations.

Also known as the Abu Dhabi Data Enablement Program, the Abu Dhabi Data program focuses on all facets of data management, including developing data capabilities and skillsets, activating and establishing data foundations across government sectors, developing a cutting-edge next-generation infrastructure that can support the program’s vision, deploying the necessary regulatory data toolkits, developing sectoral executive dashboards to be utilized by the top tier of the government, and implementing impactful data management practices.

“Data has become the core engine for growth and a strategic asset around the world fuelling policy making, strategic insights, innovation, and AI across nations. Abu Dhabi Data program will ensure that Abu Dhabi is a Data and AI-Powered Emirate that harnesses data for the well-being of its residents and visitors, economic growth, and innovation across the different aspects of life,” H.E Ali Rashid Al Ketbi, Chairman of the Department of Government Support- Abu Dhabi (DGS) said at the event.  

Abu Dhabi’s government agencies have collaborated to create the Abu Dhabi Data Program to establish the emirate as a center of excellence for data and an exporter of data expertise, thought leadership, and information to other countries.
