Abu Dhabi signs 29 commercial agreements to accelerate autonomous mobility deployment
Abu Dhabi advances smart mobility with 29 new agreements for autonomous transport, driving commercial deployment across logistics, delivery, and healthcare.
The Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO) has announced 29 commercial deployment agreements for autonomous mobility technologies, unveiled during the Abu Dhabi Autonomous Summit, part of the inaugural Abu Dhabi Autonomous Week (ADAW).
The agreements, signed with companies including K2, LODD Autonomous, Autologix, Sinaha, TractEasy, MLG, and Space42, establish a framework for deploying autonomous systems across multiple sectors in Abu Dhabi. These partnerships mark a shift from pilot testing to full-scale commercial operations within a regulated environment overseen by the Smart and Autonomous Systems Council (SASC).
Abu Dhabi has been developing an infrastructure that enables real-world testing and commercial assessment of autonomous technologies. The SASC framework integrates regulation, safety, and infrastructure to support scalable deployment.
“With these 29 commercial pilot agreements marking a decisive step toward a future where autonomous technologies set new standards for transportation and trade,” Badr Al-Olama, Director General of ADIO, said. He added, “Anchored by the Smart and Autonomous Vehicle Industries (SAVI) cluster, these agreements translate decades of R&D into tangible commercial deployment. Together, they represent a defining moment, where technology begins to function as a viable and vital part of the global economy.”
Local company Sinaha Technology is among those expanding its autonomous logistics capabilities. Its projects include AI-driven ground vehicles, automated warehouses, and digital fleet management systems designed to improve operational efficiency and reduce emissions.
In aerial logistics, LODD Autonomous is conducting drone delivery pilots with PureLab, EMX, Noon, and Aramex. The trials include cold-chain transport for medical samples and parcel deliveries between sorting hubs and community collection points.
K2, in partnership with Talabat, EMX, ENEC, Noon, and the Department of Municipalities and Transport, is running projects that combine AI-enabled electric vehicles and drones for short- and mid-distance deliveries. These include fully electric Robosweepers and autonomous ground fleets designed to enhance sustainability and logistics performance.
Heavy goods transport is also being advanced through a collaboration between Autologix—a joint venture of 7X and Zelostech—and Emirates Post, which is deploying Level 4 autonomous cargo vehicles in Abu Dhabi. The driverless, fully electric vehicles are built to ensure safer and more efficient freight operations.
