Investment in the latest technologies, particularly artificial intelligence, is becoming increasingly important for most organizations. However, the public sector faces challenges in adopting these technologies due to costs, the need to optimize resources, improve patient care, personalize education experiences, and ensure security.

In its ongoing commitment to the safe, secure, and responsible development of AI technology, AWS has launched a two-year investment initiative totaling $50 million. The AWS Public Sector Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) Impact Initiative will provide AWS Promotional Credits, training, and technical expertise for GenAI projects.

Credit issuance determinations will be based on several factors, including the customer’s experience developing new technology solutions, the maturity of the project idea, proof of future solution adoption, and proficiency in GenAI skills.

The Impact Initiative is available to new or existing AWS Worldwide Public Sector customers and partners from enterprises globally who are building GenAI solutions.

This initiative will also leverage AWS GenAI services and infrastructure, including Amazon Bedrock, Amazon Q, Amazon SageMaker, AWS HealthScribe, AWS Trainium, and AWS Inferentia.

The initiative aims to train participants and help them achieve market goals and business needs. It also provides access to GenAI innovation center expertise, which assists in ideating, identifying, and securely implementing GenAI solutions.
