As Dubai continues to expand innovative humanitarian initiatives, efforts to strengthen community support through modern endowment models are gaining new momentum. Reflecting this commitment, the Mohammed bin Rashid Global Centre for Endowment Consultancy (MBRGCEC) has introduced a significant enhancement to one of its most impactful programmes, demonstrating the emirate’s focus on using technology for social good.

MBRGCEC, affiliated with the Endowment and Minors’ Trust Foundation in Dubai (Awqaf Dubai), has launched a new phase of its “Bread for All” initiative. The programme now distributes hot meals to labour communities through smart devices operating around the clock. This latest phase builds on MBRGCEC’s broader efforts to advance endowments through modern, community-focused models.

The upgraded devices feature a redesigned interface with an intuitive digital touchscreen, a refrigeration system to keep meals fresh, and smart indicators that track performance, stock levels, and maintenance needs. A smart ID system has also been introduced to ensure fairness, allowing each beneficiary to receive one meal per day.

New units have been installed near several mosques across Dubai, with further expansion planned based on the needs of eligible groups.

Ali Al Mutawa, Secretary-General of Awqaf Dubai, affirmed that “Bread for All” embodies Dubai’s humanitarian mission to care for low-income segments of society and to promote innovative endowment models that serve the public good through modern means. “This new phase continues the journey of giving in a more advanced and sustainable manner, with a focus on expanding the base of beneficiaries and strengthening the spirit of social responsibility,” Al Mutawa added.

He emphasised that individuals and companies can support the initiative through donations, device sponsorship, or meal contributions, reinforcing solidarity and expanding the role of endowments in community development.

Zainab Juma Al Tamimi, Director of MBRGCEC, said the launch of the new phase follows the programme’s strong results in its first year in 2022, when thousands of hot loaves were distributed daily. She noted that the technology has now become “more intelligent,” offering remote-control capabilities and a more diverse range of meals.

Since its launch in 2022, “Bread for All” has generated wide community and donor engagement, establishing a dignified, endowment-driven model to support labour communities across Dubai.
