Ferrari unveils the 849 Testarossa at Casa Ferrari Abu Dhabi
Ferrari Middle East unveiled the 849 Testarossa during Casa Ferrari Abu Dhabi, introducing its latest 1,050 cv hybrid supercar that blends performance with design and heritage.
Ferrari Middle East unveiled the 849 Testarossa in the region during the annual Casa Ferrari event at Yas Links Golf Club in Abu Dhabi, marking the model’s regional debut.
The launch coincided with the Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix weekend, held from December 5 to 7, when clients, enthusiasts, and long-time Ferrari owners gathered to see the brand’s latest hybrid supercar.
Positioned as the successor to the SF90 Stradale, the 849 Testarossa is a plug-in hybrid berlinetta that combines a mid-rear twin-turbo V8 engine with three electric motors to deliver a total output of 1,050 cv. The model sits at the top of Ferrari’s current performance range, pairing advanced hybrid technology with a more refined focus on everyday drivability and a design that references the brand’s heritage while moving toward a more futuristic look.
The car is powered by Ferrari’s twin-turbo V8, part of an engine family that has received multiple International Engine of the Year awards. It features the largest turbocharger ever fitted to a Ferrari production vehicle. The hybrid system, made up of one rear and two front electric motors, adds a further 220 cv, contributing to sharper acceleration and improved efficiency.
Ferrari developed the vehicle’s dynamics to strike a balance between high performance and stability, aiming to deliver a more consistent and engaging driving experience without compromising comfort. The exterior features more sculpted, aerodynamic lines, while the cabin is designed with improved ergonomics, increased space, and driver-focused technology.
Casa Ferrari, held annually during the Abu Dhabi F1 Grand Prix weekend, operates as a hospitality and lifestyle venue for Ferrari’s regional community. Drawing on the Italian idea of “Casa,” or “home,” it serves as a space where the brand’s heritage and future direction are showcased.
