GITEX Global 2024 set to feature world’s top tech leaders and startups in Dubai
GITEX Global 2024 is launching GITEX Editions, a new platform designed to accelerate the growth and global governance of high-growth companies.
With only two months remaining until GITEX Global 2024, one of the world’s largest tech and startup events, organizers have announced a lineup of new industry programs, cybersecurity experts, and keynote speakers from top global brands. This year’s event is scheduled to take place from October 14 to 18 at the Dubai World Trade Centre.
In alignment with Dubai’s ambition to host 30 startup unicorns by 2030, GITEX Global 2024 is introducing GITEX Editions. This key platform is designed to accelerate the growth of high-potential companies and enhance global governance, positioning Dubai as a leading hub for innovation and entrepreneurship.
Eight fast-growing startups from around the globe, including three backed by the European Innovation Council, will take center stage.
Notable participants at GITEX Global 2024 include a diverse lineup of leaders from groundbreaking companies across the globe, making their mark in the Middle East for the first time.
Among them is Fabrizio del Maffeo, CEO of Axelera AI in the Netherlands, a company valued at $500 million. Dr. Alexander Zhavoronkov, CEO of InSilico Medicine, a biotech firm valued at $1.5 billion from Hong Kong, will also be present. Dr. Mazen Rizk, CEO of Germany’s Infinite Roots, leads the EU’s largest mycelium-biotech investment.
Dr. Joseph Fitzsimons, CEO of Horizon Quantum Computing, whose company is backed by major investors like Sequoia and Tencent, will share insights from Singapore. Dr. Sunghyun Park, CEO of Rebellions from South Korea, is aiming to become Korea’s first AI semiconductor unicorn.
The event will also feature Svilen Rangelov, CEO of Dronamics, a UK-based company operating the world’s first cargo drone airline, and Emilio Scervo, CTO of Bugatti-Rimac from Croatia, known for creating the world’s fastest hypercars. Philippe Notton, CEO of SiPearl from France, will be there to discuss high-performance semiconductor manufacturing.
GITEX Global 2024 will also welcome first-time speakers, including Michael Spranger, President of Sony AI Inc.; Chris Duffey, Futurist and Head of GenStudio at Adobe; and Isabell Gradert, VP of Central Research & Technology for Airbus.
The event will spotlight cybersecurity through real-world case studies, AI-driven live hacks, and CISO debates, addressing current threats and exploring innovative solutions. Industry heavyweights such as Chenxi Wang, Managing Partner of Rain Capital, and Ekaterina Serban, VP of Privacy and Information Security at Bosch, will join a panel of CISOs to discuss the evolving cyber landscape.
Pakistan has been named the ‘Tech Destination of the Year’ for the 2024 event, represented by the Pakistan Software Export Board. Shaza Fatima Khawaja, Minister of State for IT & Telecommunication, expressed pride in showcasing Pakistan’s tech talent on this prestigious platform.
