Global leaders stand with the UAE and call for regional stability
International leaders back the UAE and call for regional stability following recent attacks
A growing number of global leaders have expressed solidarity with the UAE following recent attacks targeting the country and other regional states. Several heads of state and government held phone calls with Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, to condemn the strikes and reaffirm their support for the Emirates.
The diplomatic outreach reflects growing international concern over the escalation and its potential implications for regional stability.
Among regional leaders, Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of Egypt, strongly condemned the attacks during a phone call with Sheikh Mohamed, describing them as a clear violation of the sovereignty of the UAE and other Arab states. He reaffirmed Egypt’s full support for the UAE and its efforts to safeguard its security and protect its citizens, according to the Emirates News Agency.
Jordan’s King Abdullah II also discussed the latest developments with the UAE President, reiterating Jordan’s condemnation of the attacks and stressing the importance of preserving regional security and stability.
European leaders have also voiced strong support. Emmanuel Macron, President of France, condemned the strikes during a call with Sheikh Mohamed, expressing France’s solidarity with the UAE and backing measures taken to ensure the safety of its people and infrastructure, the Emirates News Agency reported.
Similarly, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni condemned the attacks and expressed Italy’s support for the UAE in maintaining its security and stability. Dutch Prime Minister Dick Schoof also voiced solidarity with the UAE during a phone call with Sheikh Mohamed, emphasizing the importance of de-escalation and regional stability.
Support has also come from European institutions. Roberta Metsola, President of the European Parliament, condemned the attacks as a violation of sovereignty and international law during a call with the UAE President, reiterating the Parliament’s solidarity with the Emirates.
Leaders from across the region echoed similar sentiments. Joseph Aoun, President of Lebanon, condemned the attacks and affirmed his country’s solidarity with the UAE. At the same time, Bashar al-Assad, President of Syria, also expressed support during a separate phone call.
Further messages of solidarity came from beyond the region. Ilham Aliyev, President of Azerbaijan, conveyed his country’s support for the UAE and condemned the attacks, underscoring the need to safeguard regional security. Samia Suluhu Hassan, President of Tanzania, and Volodymyr Zelenskyy, President of Ukraine, also expressed their countries’ support during calls with Sheikh Mohamed, condemning the strikes and emphasizing respect for national sovereignty.
Irakli Kobakhidze, Prime Minister of Georgia, likewise denounced the attacks as a violation of international law and reaffirmed his country’s support for the UAE.
During the calls, Sheikh Mohamed thanked the leaders for their supportive positions and reiterated the UAE’s commitment to regional stability and to its diplomatic efforts to prevent further escalation.
The series of high-level conversations highlights broad international condemnation of the attacks and highlights growing global support for the UAE amid rising regional tensions, the Emirates News Agency reported.
