Hermès has appointed British designer Grace Wales Bonner as its new Creative Director of Men’s Ready-to-Wear, marking a significant transition for the French luxury house and one of fashion’s most distinctive modern voices.

Founder and artistic director of her eponymous label, Wales Bonner is celebrated for her fusion of craftsmanship, culture, and contemporary masculinity. She will present her first collection for Hermès in January 2027, succeeding Véronique Nichanian, who defined the brand’s men’s aesthetic for over three decades.

Wales Bonner launched her label in 2014 shortly after graduating from Central Saint Martins. Her work has earned multiple honors, including CFDA International Men’s Designer of the Year (2021) and British Menswear Designer of the Year (2024). She has also been recognized with an MBE for services to fashion in 2022.

Beyond her label, Wales Bonner has collaborated with Adidas, curated an exhibition at the Museum of Modern Art in New York, and staged performances at London’s Serpentine Galleries.

Wales Bonner’s designs have been worn by figures such as Lewis Hamilton, FKA Twigs, and Jeff Goldblum, and she has collaborated with Solange Knowles on creative projects.

“Hermès men’s style will continue to evolve through Grace’s dialogue between heritage and modernity,” said Pierre-Alexis Dumas, the brand’s General Artistic Director. “We are at the beginning of an inspiring collaboration.”

Describing the appointment as “a dream realized,” Wales Bonner expressed gratitude to Dumas and Hermès Executive Chairman Axel Dumas for entrusting her with the role, saying she looks forward to bringing her creative vision to the storied maison.
