Khazna Data Centers, one of the largest hyperscale wholesale data center providers in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, has announced the establishment of its largest data center in the UAE. Located in Ajman, this 100MW AI-optimized, Tier 3 data center is the first of its kind in the region.

Hassan Alnaqbi, CEO of Khazna, made the announcement during Gitex Global 2024 alongside H.E. Suhail Mohammed Al Mazroui, Minister of Energy and Infrastructure, and Yousif Al Ali, CEO of Etihad Water and Electricity (EtihadWE).

“The launch of our 100MW AI-optimized data center is a testament to Khazna’s strong growth and reflects the UAE’s readiness to lead in AI innovation,” said Alnaqbi.

Khazna’s latest facility spans 100,000 square meters and features 20 data halls, each with a capacity of 5MW. Construction is already underway, with completion expected in 15 months.

Etihad Water and Electricity Company will supply electricity for the Ajman data center. Khazna emphasizes energy efficiency in the facility’s design, highlighting its modular layout, which ensures the effective use of resources.

“Our new data center in Ajman has been specifically designed for the high computing power and scalability requirements of AI. Our advanced cooling techniques and energy-efficient modular designs to maximize both energy efficiency and scalability integrated within this data center will help the UAE anticipate and leverage this revolutionary technology,” noted Alnaqbi.

The facility will also positively impact the local economy by creating jobs in AI and making AI scalable and sustainable.

Al Ali shared, “Supplying the AI-optimized data center in Ajman with reliable and efficient electricity underscores our role in enabling advanced technology infrastructures that support the UAE’s strategic goals in digital and economic growth. Our commitment to sustainable energy practices is fundamental to our support of projects that drive the nation’s progress in the age of artificial intelligence.”
