According to a global classification by Cirium Diio, King Khalid International Airport (KKIA) in Riyadh has climbed to the top of the rankings for on-time flight schedules. This achievement in May marks a significant milestone for the airport.

KKIA CEO Ayman Abu Ababa stated that this achievement is a testament to the commitment of KKIA, its partners, and its employees to providing the highest level of operational services, securing this prestigious recognition.

Abu Ababa further highlighted the dedication of the company’s staff in maintaining the airport’s position as a prominent gateway to a thriving regional capital. He emphasized how KKIA serves as a hub for economic activity, tourism, and cultural exchange.

This accomplishment aligns with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 goals, which aim to solidify the kingdom’s leadership role and promote sustainable development across various sectors.

The kingdom notably aims to triple its annual passengers to 330 million, expand connectivity to over 250 destinations from its 29 airports, and increase air freight capacity to 4.5 million tons per year by 2030.
KKIA’s rise to the top spot comes just five months after it held the third position in Cirium Diio’s rankings, demonstrating a rapid improvement in its global standing.
