The Kuwaiti Ministry of Health, through its Center for Disease Prevention and Control, has launched the Epidemic Intelligence from Open Sources (EIOS) platform.

This digital tool aims to strengthen the country’s capacity to monitor and analyze public health data from various sources, including social media, news outlets, and government websites.

The Ministry stated that the platform’s launch coincided with a training workshop led by World Health Organization (WHO) experts designed to equip national personnel with the skills to effectively use the platform and analyze its data.

By gathering information from media outlets, social media, health reports, and government websites, the platform strengthens the Ministry’s ability to detect and respond to potential health threats.

This initiative is part of broader efforts to enhance health security, improve preparedness, and ensure rapid responses to health crises using advanced technology.

Earlier this year, Kuwait and the World Health Organization (WHO) launched the Country Cooperation Strategy (CCS) 2023–2027 to support Kuwait in achieving the health and well-being goals of Kuwait Vision 2035.

The strategy highlights six priorities: strengthening the health system, enhancing emergency preparedness, promoting well-being through cross-sector approaches, addressing environmental health and climate change impacts, building an evidence-based system using digital technologies, and expanding Kuwait’s global health cooperation.
