Masdar has solidified its global clean energy leadership with nearly $8.1 billion in equity investments and over $4.46 billion in project financing across nine countries. These milestones reflect its commitment to expanding its renewable energy portfolio and advancing the global energy transition.

Since its founding in 2006, Masdar has been instrumental in driving the UAE’s sustainability and climate goals. It has delivered and partnered on projects in more than 40 countries and aims to reach 100GW of renewable energy capacity by 2030.

Masdar is advancing the UAE’s ambition to become the world’s largest developer, owner, and operator of renewable energy and green hydrogen. At the same time, it’s supporting countries around the world in meeting their climate neutrality goals, with plans to increase its project portfolio to 51GW by the end of 2024.

Key acquisitions in Greece, Spain, and the United States have driven its rapid growth and strengthened its foothold in Europe and North America. In addition, Masdar launched seven major projects globally, including two battery energy storage systems in the UK, two solar projects in Azerbaijan with a combined capacity of 760MW, and the 1.5GW Al Ajban Solar Project in the UAE.

Masdar also reached financial closure on six projects, including the 1.1GW Al Henakiyah Solar Power Plant and the multi-utility AMAALA sustainable project in Saudi Arabia, as well as the 760MW Bilasuvar and Neftchala solar projects in Azerbaijan.

In December 2024, the company signed a Power Purchase Agreement for the 2GW Sadawi project in Saudi Arabia and inaugurated the 500MW Zarafshan Wind Farm in Uzbekistan—the largest operational wind farm in Central Asia.
