Mercedes-AMG unveils CONCEPT GT XX electric performance prototype
The concept features three powerful electric motors and a newly developed high-performance battery

Mercedes-AMG has unveiled the CONCEPT AMG GT XX, a prototype showcasing technologies planned for a future four-door electric performance model.
Built on the brand’s next-generation electric platform, the concept features three electric motors and a newly developed high-performance battery, reflecting AMG’s ongoing shift toward electrification. The GT XX delivers over 1,000 kW of power and can exceed 360 km/h, with power distributed through front and rear motor systems.
Its battery system, developed with input from Formula 1 programs, uses full-tab cylindrical cells, direct oil cooling, and NCMA chemistry, enabling rapid charging of up to 400 km in five minutes. A prototype fast-charging station, developed with Alpitronic, supports this capability.

The lightweight body integrates the battery into the vehicle’s structural and safety design. Aerodynamic enhancements, including active airflow features, contribute to overall performance and energy efficiency.
Inside, the concept features a minimalist, motorsport-inspired layout, incorporating recycled materials, illuminated details, and a dedicated AMG user interface. A fully variable all-wheel drive system completes the vehicle’s performance-focused setup.
“The best minds across our global R&D network—from Sindelfingen and Affalterbach to Brixworth—came together to develop pioneering drivetrain technology that pushes the boundaries of what’s possible,” said Markus Schäfer, Chief Technology Officer of Mercedes-Benz Group AG.
“This is a true AMG in every fibre of its being,” said Michael Schiebe, CEO of Mercedes-AMG GmbH. “The high-tech axial flux motor redefines what’s possible in terms of power, weight, and packaging. Combined with our new battery system, it achieves a level of performance and endurance previously unimaginable.”
The concept vehicle is also seen as a design milestone for the brand. “With the CONCEPT AMG GT XX, we’ve translated our design vision into the electric future,” said Gorden Wagener, Chief Design Officer of Mercedes-Benz Group AG. “From the 300 SL to the Vision One-Eleven, AMG icons are built to evoke emotion. This latest concept continues that tradition while pushing into new territory.”
Set to enter production in 2026, the axial flux motors featured in the GT XX are a key component of AMG’s future electric drivetrain strategy, positioning the brand at the forefront of high-performance EV innovation.
