MICHELIN Guide to launch first Saudi Arabia edition in 2026, spotlighting Riyadh and Jeddah
Renowned dining guide to spotlight Riyadh, Jeddah, and beyond as inspectors explore the Kingdom’s vibrant and evolving culinary scene

The MICHELIN Guide has officially announced its expansion into Saudi Arabia, with the first-ever edition dedicated to the Kingdom set for release in 2026. The prestigious guide will initially focus on the culinary scenes of Riyadh and Jeddah, while also beginning to explore standout dining destinations in Khobar, AlUla, and more.
Anonymous MICHELIN inspectors are already in the field, evaluating restaurants nationwide to identify the best in culinary excellence. The selection, unveiled toward the end of 2025, will highlight restaurants demonstrating creativity, technical skill, and a deep respect for Saudi culinary traditions.
“Over the past few years, our MICHELIN inspectors have closely followed the evolution of Saudi Arabia’s food culture and are excited to now officially explore its offerings,” said Gwendal Poullennec, International Director of the MICHELIN Guide.
Saudi Arabia’s growing reputation as a cultural and culinary destination is further underscored by its blend of heritage and modernity, from historic Diriyah to the luxury retail and dining hub VIA Riyadh. The Kingdom’s food scene reflects this diversity, offering everything from traditional dishes like kabsa and masabeeb to global cuisines including Japanese, Thai, and American.
Mayada Badr, CEO of the Saudi Culinary Arts Commission, welcomed the announcement: “Our collaboration with the MICHELIN Guide marks an important milestone in celebrating the unique and diverse culinary scene of Saudi Arabia. It shines a light on the creativity and excellence of our chefs and restaurants.”
The MICHELIN Guide’s arrival is expected to boost tourism and firmly place Saudi Arabia on the global gastronomic map, inviting locals and visitors alike to experience the Kingdom through its rich and diverse culinary landscape.
