Msheireb Downtown Doha has received two major accolades at The Global Economics Awards 2025, winning titles for “Leading Urban Business Destination” and “Best Smart City Project for Mobility.” These awards add to the district’s growing list of recognitions, which include several Qatar Tourism Awards and the Big 5 Global Impact Award for Liveable City Initiative of the Year in 2024.

Presented by The Global Economics Awards, which honor excellence across key international economic sectors, the latest accolades highlight Msheireb’s success in creating a forward-looking business environment and implementing innovative urban mobility systems.

The development is widely recognized as a model for integrating smart technology with traditional Qatari architectural elements to create a sustainable and livable urban environment.

Commenting on the achievement, Eng. Ali Al Kuwari, CEO of Msheireb Properties, said the recognition reinforces the project’s commitment to balancing economic growth with cultural preservation. “These new awards further validate our vision of creating spaces that enhance both business and community life,” he noted.

The “Leading Urban Business Destination” award underscores Msheireb Downtown Doha’s rise as a key commercial hub, attracting local and international enterprises across various sectors.

Over the past year, major media institutions, financial firms, and other organizations have established a presence in the district, supporting Qatar’s broader economic diversification goals.

Meanwhile, the “Best Smart City Project for Mobility” award recognizes Msheireb’s transport innovations, including the eco-friendly Msheireb Tram, smart parking systems, and pedestrian-first urban planning.

These features, along with the Guinness World Record-holding underground car park, are designed to improve connectivity and minimize environmental impact.
