NEOM Green Hydrogen Company (NGHC) has signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding with Fahd bin Sultan University to strengthen collaboration in education, research, and talent development in the Tabuk region. The three-year agreement was formalized at the university’s campus by Professor Dr. Abdullah bin Ibrahim Hussein and NGHC CEO Wesam Alghamdi.

The partnership marks an important step in supporting Saudi Arabia’s transition toward a knowledge-based economy, while creating new learning and career pathways for students and young professionals in the Kingdom’s rapidly expanding clean energy and hydrogen sectors. As NGHC approaches completion of more than 90 percent of its facilities, part of the world’s largest green hydrogen project, developing national capabilities has become central to sustaining operational excellence and advancing the country’s clean energy ambitions.

Under the MoU, NGHC and Fahd bin Sultan University will collaborate on training programs, academic research, technical development, and scientific events. A key component of the partnership is a bridging program that enables diploma holders to pursue bachelor’s degrees in line with university regulations. The agreement also promotes knowledge exchange between the two institutions and provides students with access to practical training, employment pathways, and professional workshops designed to build industry-relevant expertise.

To ensure the effective implementation of the agreement, both parties will hold regular coordination meetings and appoint dedicated representatives to oversee progress and ensure continuity beyond the term of the memorandum.

As part of the initiative, a range of courses will be offered to equip students with practical and technical skills, including engineering and technician training, occupational safety, administrative development, and specialized modules focused on renewable energy and hydrogen technologies. These programs reflect NGHC’s long-term commitment to investing in Saudi talent and fostering innovation within the clean energy ecosystem.

“Developing national talent is fundamental to the long-term success of NEOM Green Hydrogen Company as we prepare to operate the world’s largest green hydrogen plant and support the growth of Saudi Arabia’s clean energy economy,” said Wesam Alghamdi, CEO of NGHC. “Our collaboration with Fahd bin Sultan University represents an important step in building the skills and knowledge required for this new industry.”

Professor Dr. Abdullah bin Ibrahim Hussein added, “This memorandum reflects our shared commitment to education that meets the needs of future industries. Working alongside NGHC allows us to expand opportunities for our students and prepare them to contribute to the Kingdom’s renewable energy and sustainability goals.”

The partnership between NGHC and Fahd bin Sultan University highlights the importance of collaboration between academia and industry in driving national development, enhancing local capabilities, and advancing Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 objectives for economic diversification and leadership in clean energy.
