The GCC Customs Union Authority has signed a strategic agreement with Malomatia, a regional digital solutions provider, to develop a unified central platform for real-time customs data exchange among Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states. The initiative represents a significant step toward strengthening digital infrastructure and enhancing regional customs integration.

Announced by Malomatia on Wednesday, the agreement was signed the previous day at the Customs Union Authority headquarters in Riyadh. The new platform aims to modernize cross-border customs operations by enabling secure and immediate data exchange between customs authorities across the region.

This development aligns with the GCC’s broader economic vision of creating a more interconnected and efficient regional economy. Once operational, the platform will accelerate data flow, streamline the movement of goods, enhance risk assessment, and improve regulatory compliance. It will also equip decision-makers with accurate, timely data in accordance with international standards.

Dr. Suleiman bin Masoud Al Ghafri, Executive Director of the GCC Customs Union Authority, said the project reflects the bloc’s commitment to establishing a unified and responsive customs framework.

He emphasized that it demonstrates the GCC countries’ dedication to building a flexible and integrated system, one that supports the broader strategic vision of Gulf economic integration and enhances the region’s standing in global trade and logistics.

The platform also supports the GCC’s efforts to advance digital transformation and institutional coordination, enhancing the region’s ability to adapt to global supply chain shifts through improved electronic connectivity among customs authorities.

Khalid bin Mohamed Al Kubaisi, CEO of Malomatia, said the platform will deliver secure, integrated technical solutions to accelerate customs clearance and enable the seamless exchange of information. He added that the system will drive digital customs integration across the GCC, improve operational efficiency, and support regulatory alignment.
