Qatari and Omani officials, along with business leaders, gathered in Muscat for the Oman-Qatar Economic Forum, which aimed to strengthen trade and investment between the two nations. The forum, held during Qatari Amir H.H. Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani’s visit to Oman, saw strong participation from leading companies across various sectors.

Inaugurated by H.E. Sheikh Faisal bin Thani bin Faisal Al Thani, Qatar’s Minister of Commerce and Industry, and H.E. Qais bin Mohammed Al Yousef, Oman’s Minister of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, the forum aims to unlock new opportunities for private sector collaboration and investment. Sheikh Faisal highlighted the deep historical ties between the two countries, emphasizing the significant progress in bilateral relations, driven by mutual visits and a shared commitment to expanding partnerships.

He emphasized the forum as a vital platform for public-private sector dialogue, fostering partnerships and mutual investments. He also revealed that trade between Qatar and Oman had surpassed $1.8 billion by the end of 2024. The Qatari minister encouraged Omani businesses to take advantage of Qatar’s favorable investment climate and the opportunities presented by the Qatar National Development Strategy. Discussions at the forum centered on enhancing cooperation across various sectors, including industry, logistics, tourism, hospitality, technology, and digital services.

Dialogue sessions covered topics such as industrial and logistics integration, sustainable tourism development, and building an integrated digital economy. Both sides highlighted the attractive business environments in their respective countries.
