RDIA launches national initiative to strengthen Saudi Arabia’s semiconductor sector
The program also aims to empower national talent in the kingdom’s semiconductor industry.
Recent strategic investments from Saudi Arabia and the UAE have positioned these Gulf states as emerging leaders in the global AI and semiconductor sectors.
In a move to bolster this growth, Saudi Arabia’s Research, Development, and Innovation Authority (RDIA) has launched an advanced training program aimed at localizing digital chip design technologies.
This initiative, conducted in partnership with the National Academy for Industry, is part of a broader collaboration involving the RDIA, the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources, Aramco, and Alat. The program is designed to equip national talent with specialized knowledge in semiconductor design, preparing them to contribute to electronic chip design projects and meet market demands.
The eight-month training, which will run from September 29 to May 29, targets individuals with bachelor’s degrees in electrical and computer engineering or related fields.
Participants will be poised to join companies within the National Semiconductor Hub, directly contributing to the advancement of Saudi Arabia’s semiconductor industry.
