Ready to fly from Abu Dhabi to Dubai in just 30 minutes?
The air taxi services could go into effect by 2025.
The UAE’s business aviation services provider, Falcon Aviation, and the US-based electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) developer, Archer Aviation, will jointly develop a vertiport network and launch air taxi operations between Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
The companies will develop the vertiport infrastructure at Falcon Heliport at Atlantis, the Palm in Dubai, and the Marina Mall heliport at Abu Dhabi Corniche.
With the help of air taxis zooming across the skies between Dubai and Abu Dhabi, commute time could be cut to 30 minutes in 2025.
Described as a “leap into the future” by Falcon Aviation’s CEO, Ramandeep Oberoi, the air taxi service could go into operation by 2025, can carry four passengers at a time and will execute back-to-back flights with minimal charge time between flights.
Last October, Archer signed an agreement with the Abu Dhabi Investment Office to set up a manufacturing center in Abu Dhabi.
Last month, Joby Aviation revealed plans to launch air taxi services in Dubai by 2026 as part of an agreement with Dubai’s Road and Transport Authority.
