Saudi Arabia has taken a significant step towards advancing the Arabic language in the digital age with the launch of the Arabic Intelligence Center in Riyadh.

This international center, operated by the King Salman Global Academy for Arabic Language, represents a global first: a specialized hub dedicated to utilizing AI for the automatic processing of the Arabic language.

The center aims to empower the Arabic language to compete effectively with others in the digital realm. It will provide various technical and linguistic services and consultations related to AI-powered Arabic language processing. These services are available to anyone interested in the language, locally and internationally.

Dr. Abdullah Al-Washmi, Secretary-General of the Academy, says the Arabic Intelligence Center is the first of its kind specializing in AI-powered Arabic language processing.

The center aligns with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 goals, particularly the National Strategy for Data and Artificial Intelligence, which aims to position the Kingdom as a global leader in these fields.

It envisions pioneering the use of AI for the Arabic language and providing integrated services to empower users with AI tools to strengthen Arabic’s global standing.

The center consists of five specialized laboratories: the Artificial Intelligence Laboratory, the Data Formatting Laboratory, the Audio and Visual Laboratory, the Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality Laboratory, and the Researchers Laboratory.

Services offered by the center include technical and linguistic consultations, specialized courses and workshops, paid research licenses, support for relevant studies, and data labeling collaboration.
