Saudi Arabia launches 28 new healthcare projects worth $1.86 billion
The initiatives, launched across Riyadh’s three health clusters, are set to add over 3,000 beds to the Kingdom’s healthcare system.

Riyadh Governor Prince Faisal bin Bandar inaugurated 28 major healthcare projects, marking a significant step in expanding the region’s medical infrastructure.
Valued at over $1.86 billion, the initiatives span the public, private, and non-profit sectors and will add more than 3,000 beds to the Kingdom’s healthcare system. Launched across Riyadh’s three health clusters, the projects align with Saudi Vision 2030’s goal of enhancing healthcare services and accessibility.
More than $479 million has been invested in developments within the clusters, including a 500-bed Women’s, Maternity, and Children’s Hospital at King Saud Medical City, new 200-bed towers at King Salman and Al-Iman hospitals, and a 30-bed kidney center in Al-Aflaj.
Additional developments include upgrades to primary healthcare centers in the Al-Hazm, Badr, Okaz, and Al-Fawaz neighborhoods, along with the opening of a new facility in Al-Rabwa that houses nine clinics and 30 ICU beds.
The projects also extend to urgent care services in Hawtah Bani Tamim and the Al-Qassim Charitable Complex for Hemodialysis and Dentistry, which includes 22 dental clinics and 15 dialysis chairs.
Several initiatives have been made possible through charitable contributions. These include the expansion of Tamir Hospital, funded by the Ibrahim Al Sultan Charitable Foundation, and a new health center in Rawdat Sudair, supported by the Al-Babtain Charitable Foundation.
The Third Health Cluster witnessed the launch of nine new projects, led by the 300-bed Diriyah General Hospital. Other developments include a new healthcare center and specialized dental and rehabilitation centers funded by Abdul Moneim Al Rashid, upgrades to emergency departments at Shaqra and Thadiq hospitals, and a new endoscopy unit at Al-Dawadmi Hospital.
Prince Faisal also inaugurated eight private-sector healthcare projects, with a total investment exceeding $1.3 billion. These include the 343-bed Madida Medical Care Company, Riyadh Medical Hospital (30 beds), Arteh Specialized Hospital (20 beds), and Banan Medical Hospital (10 beds).
