Saudi Arabia launches biotechnology accelerator to boost innovation and entrepreneurship
New program supports Saudi biotech talent with training, mentorship, and investor access in line with Vision 2030

In a strategic move to advance healthcare innovation and strengthen the life sciences sector, the Ministry of Health in Saudi Arabia has launched a national biotechnology accelerator program. The initiative aims to empower local scientists, entrepreneurs, and startups by equipping them with the tools, knowledge, and global connections needed to bring breakthrough biotech solutions to market.
The accelerator supports innovators at various stages of development, providing access to expert mentorship, business development resources, and opportunities to engage with local and international investors. It seeks to bridge the gap between research and commercialization, enhance participants’ scientific and commercial readiness, and expand their access to global markets.
This initiative aligns with the broader objectives of Vision 2030, which outlines KSA’s ambition to build a thriving, innovation-driven economy and improve quality of life through sustainable health solutions. It also supports the National Biotechnology Strategy and the Health Sector Transformation Program, emphasizing the importance of fostering a competitive biotechnology ecosystem within the Kingdom.
Over seven months, participants will benefit from a comprehensive program that includes hands-on workshops, specialized seminars, and one-on-one consultations with experts in biotechnology, investment, and healthcare regulation. A key feature of the accelerator is the opportunity for participants to present their innovations at BIO 2025, one of the world’s most prominent biotechnology conferences, providing unmatched exposure to global industry stakeholders.
By developing this platform, the Ministry of Health aims to nurture a new generation of Saudi biotech innovators who can contribute to national health priorities, stimulate economic diversification, and elevate KSA’s profile as a global player in life sciences.
The launch of this accelerator marks a significant step in the Kingdom’s ongoing transformation into a hub for scientific advancement, entrepreneurship, and sustainable development.
