Saudi Arabia tops global trust rankings in Edelman’s 2025 report
The kingdom leads globally in future optimism, with 69% of its citizens confident that the next generation will enjoy a better quality of life.
Saudi Arabia has been ranked the world’s most trusted government, earning an 87% trust rating in the 2025 Edelman Trust Barometer. This reflects the Kingdom’s success in bolstering public confidence through governance reforms, institutional stability, and the far-reaching impact of Vision 2030.
Saudi Arabia’s strong performance extends beyond governmental trust. The Kingdom also leads globally in future optimism, with 69% of its citizens believing the next generation will have a better life— a stark contrast to most other nations, where fewer than half share this outlook.
With an 87% trust rating, Saudi Arabia significantly outpaces major global economies, surpassing the United States (47%), the United Kingdom (43%), Germany (41%), and Japan (37%).
Following Saudi Arabia, China (83%) and the UAE (82%) secured the second and third-highest trust ratings, respectively. India (79%), Singapore (77%), and Indonesia (75%) also ranked highly, with Malaysia, Thailand, the Netherlands, and Sweden rounding out the top ten.
Now in its 25th year, the Edelman Trust Barometer surveyed over 33,000 individuals across 28 countries between October 25 and November 16, 2024. The findings highlight strong public confidence in Saudi Arabia’s governance and future trajectory.
