To position mining as a cornerstone of its economy, Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources has introduced over 120 enablers and incentives designed to attract investment.

At a recent investor meeting in Najran, Minister Bandar Alkhorayef emphasized the ministry’s dedication to supporting investors and tackling sector challenges. The Industrial Fund, offering up to 75% financing, specifically targets support for the Najran region, recognized as a promising peripheral area.

Saudi Arabia boasts substantial mineral wealth, estimated at $2.5 trillion. The Saudi Export-Import Bank supports the kingdom’s exports and enhances its global market reach.

The ministry’s industrial strategy focuses on 12 sub-industrial sectors, many of which are well-aligned with the region’s natural resources. This alignment creates appealing investment opportunities for businesses seeking to leverage the kingdom’s comparative advantages.

During his visit to Najran, Minister Alkhorayef toured the industrial city, inspecting factories and discussing the incentives provided by the Saudi Authority for Industrial Cities and Technology Zones.

Recent initiatives in the city include the establishment of a medium voltage network, energy enhancements, road network development, and improvements to rainwater drainage systems. These upgrades aim to foster a favorable environment for industrial operations and attract investors to the region.

The city’s development is marked by significant investments, with infrastructure and services projects exceeding $26.65 million.

The industrial city of Najran covers 6.5 million square meters and hosts various factories, including those specializing in non-metallic minerals, rubber and plastic products, food goods, and pharmaceuticals. The sector currently employs 6,256 workers, including 1,855 Saudi nationals.
