Saudi Public Security launches new digital services on Absher platform
New features enable business vehicle transfers and air rifle permit updates, including renewals and ownership changes.

As part of Saudi Arabia’s ongoing efforts to accelerate digital transformation, Lieutenant General Mohammed Al-Bassami, Director of Public Security, on Wednesday announced a new suite of digital services through the Ministry of Interior’s Absher platform.
The announcement was made during the “Digital Transformation Forum: Technology and the Future,” held at the Public Security headquarters in Riyadh, under the patronage of Minister of Interior Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif.
The latest updates to the “Absher Individuals” platform include features that enable vehicle ownership transfers to businesses and new capabilities for air rifle permits, such as license renewals and ownership transfers.
The “Absher Business” portal now includes a new “Accident Report” service and expanded options for managing rock-cutting permits, such as cancellations and adding new materials to existing licenses.
These enhancements reflect Absher’s continued role as a cornerstone of Saudi Arabia’s digital ecosystem.
In June 2025 alone, the platform processed more than 35.2 million electronic transactions. Of these, nearly 33 million were completed via the “Absher Individuals” platform, including over 26.8 million document views through the digital wallet, while “Absher Business” accounted for more than 2.2 million transactions.
To date, over 28 million unified digital IDs have been issued through Absher, which is accessible via the Individuals, Business, and Government platforms and through the NAFATH national single sign-on portal.
The rollout of new features and the platform’s widespread usage reflect the Ministry’s broader strategy to modernize public services, improve accessibility for citizens, residents, and visitors, and reduce the need for in-person visits by automating key processes within the security sector.
