Saudi Arabia has been actively involved in artificial intelligence (AI), particularly through initiatives like The National Strategy for Data and AI. This strategy aims to expand the use of data and AI applications, laying the groundwork for a robust economy.

Highlighting these efforts, the Saudi Press Agency reported that the Saudi Authority for Data and Artificial Intelligence (SDAIA) has reached a significant milestone by becoming the first organization globally to receive the International Standards Organization’s (ISO) certification for Artificial Intelligence Management Systems (AIMS).

Introduced in December last year, the ISO standard is the first of its kind for Artificial Intelligence Management Systems (AIMS), offering guidance on addressing challenges related to AI adoption, including ethical values, transparency, and continuous learning.
Furthermore, it outlines a strategic framework for managing risks and opportunities, emphasizing the balance between innovation and governance in organizations implementing AI technologies.

Abdullah Al-Ghamdi, President of SDAIA, highlighted that this achievement underscores the Kingdom’s rising prominence in the fields of data and AI. This success also enhances the organization’s role as a national authority for regulating, developing, and managing the implementation of these technologies, positioning Saudi Arabia as a leader in the AI sector.
