The Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA) has partnered with Microsoft to drive innovation in generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) across the kingdom.

The agreement was announced during the third Global AI Summit in Riyadh. It includes launching the Microsoft AI Academy in collaboration with SDAIA Academy. Additionally, the partnership will establish a Center of Excellence dedicated to Generative AI and Arabic large language models (LLMs).

As part of their collaboration, SDAIA announced that ALLaM, its Arabic Large Language Model, will be hosted on Microsoft Azure. This initiative aims to enhance AI services in Arabic and drive global innovation.

At the Global AI Summit, SDAIA CEO Dr. Yaser bin Mohammed Alonaizan emphasized that AI should serve humanity rather than replace it, describing it as a tool to make jobs more accessible and efficient. He also highlighted the importance of collaboration among specialized organizations and institutions to fully leverage AI modeling technology.
