Shurooq marks 15th anniversary with 52 completed projects and $1.94 billion in investments

Shurooq remains a key force driving Sharjah’s non-oil economy and its emergence as a globally competitive and future-ready investment hub.

Sharjah is increasingly focusing on sustainable development and diversified investment, with the Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq) playing a key role in its economic and cultural growth. As it marks its 15th year, Shurooq announced the completion of 52 projects spanning more than 60 million square feet, with total investments reaching $1.94 billion through strategic partnerships.

The projects cover a range of sectors, including real estate, tourism, hospitality, culture, and entertainment. Notable investments include three real estate developments valued at $1.36 billion, 10 hospitality projects worth around $231 million, 18 retail and entertainment ventures totaling over $236 million, and five cultural initiatives amounting to $121 million. Shurooq has also launched 10 food and beverage projects and six joint ventures with various partners.

Reflecting its commitment to environmental sustainability, the authority has developed 7.7 kilometers of waterfronts and implemented various green projects. Collectively, these initiatives have created over 5,000 jobs, including 1,095 through collaborations with 10 local and international entities.
