TII advances UAE’s tech leadership with 70 patents and key breakthroughs
Driving the UAE’s innovation frontier, TII advances AI, space, and quantum technologies with 70 patents, nine research centres, and over 100 global partnerships.
TII’s nine research centers span a wide range of strategic domains, including artificial intelligence and digital science, autonomous robotics, advanced materials, cryptography, directed energy, propulsion and space, quantum technologies, renewable and sustainable energy, and secure systems.
In remarks to the Emirates News Agency, Dr. Chaouki Kasmi, Chief Innovation Officer at TII, described 2025 as a landmark year for the institute, noting milestone achievements that underscore its growing global presence and leadership in advanced research.
TII achieved a major milestone in the space sector by successfully firing the UAE’s first liquid rocket engine. In quantum technologies, the institute unveiled Manarat, a next-generation quantum processor designed for real-world scalability. Other breakthroughs include the development of a 2-mm fiber laser for medical and industrial applications, underscoring TII’s advances in photonics.
