Since October, messages for support for Palestine have filled social and traditional media outlets. Stars like Jessica Chastain, Susan Sarandon, Bella and Giga Hadid, Bassem Youssef, Cherian, Fifi Abdo, Ragheb Alame, and Yousra have supported the Palestinian people in Gaza.

Now, leveraging her celebrity status, TikTok star Sabrina Bahsoon, who gained popularity and has nearly 800,000 TikTok followers as London Tube Girl, has set up an education fund to support Palestinian children.

The initiative comes through a partnership with advocacy group Geutanyoe Malaysia, which helps Palestinian refugees who fled the Gaza Strip and the West Bank travel to Malaysia.

“This contribution not only nurtures young minds but also serves as a safe haven for them in a context of protracted displacement. Together, this coordinated effort strengthens our resolve to empower the Palestinian community through education,” said Geutanyoe Malaysia.

This comes after Bahsoon received backlash in November for a video she posted about collaborating with a UK brand to sell t-shirts and raise funds for people in Gaza.

The 23-year-old TikTok star, whose father is Lebanese-Sierra Leonean, shot to fame after videos of her dances on London’s crowded Tube system went viral, racking up over 200 million views on TikTok and other social media platforms.
