UAE and Airbus partner to boost aerospace industry at Make it in the Emirates 2025
The MoU sets the stage for long-term cooperation aimed at supporting the UAE’s industrial goals.

The UAE continues to strengthen its position as a leader in industrial development and advanced technology. In a significant step toward enhancing the country’s aerospace capabilities, the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology (MoIAT) has partnered with Airbus Africa and the Middle East. This collaboration aims to support the growth of the local aerospace industry and contribute to the nation’s broader industrial goals.
MoIAT has signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Airbus Africa and Middle East to advance the development of a national aerospace capability enhancement program.
The agreement was signed by Omar Suwaina Al Suwaidi, Under-Secretary of MoIAT, and Gabriel Semelas, President of Airbus Africa and the Middle East, during the Make it in the Emirates 2025 event.
The MoU paves the way for long-term cooperation to support the UAE’s industrial objectives, focusing on supplier development, skills transfer, and the integration of local businesses into Airbus’s global supply chain. The collaboration aligns with the UAE’s National Strategy for Industry and Advanced Technology, which seeks to position the country as a leading global hub for future industries.
Make it in the Emirates 2025, held under the theme “Advanced Industries. Accelerated,” is expected to be the largest edition to date, featuring over 700 exhibitors and showcasing more than 3,800 locally produced items across a 68,000-square-meter exhibition area.
The platform builds on more than $43.2 billion in offtake agreements linked to over 4,800 products targeted for local manufacturing.
Make it in the Emirates continues to highlight the UAE’s commitment to industrial advancement, promoting strategic partnerships, and accelerating the adoption of advanced technologies.
