UAE introduces AI system to expedite legal reforms and enhance governance
This initiative supports the UAE’s ambition to position itself as a global pioneer in digital governance and innovative policymaking.

The UAE is advancing toward smarter governance with the launch of its first AI-driven regulatory intelligence system, recently approved by the Cabinet. This initiative is a cornerstone of the country’s broader digital transformation strategy.
The AI system aims to streamline the drafting and updating of laws, enhancing speed, precision, and alignment with global developments. Authorities estimate it could cut the time required to process new legislation by up to 70%.

Designed to adapt to the rapidly changing international landscape, the system will use AI to analyze large volumes of data, identify legal gaps, and suggest timely updates.
The system will also track global legal changes in real-time, allowing the UAE to “stay ahead in adjusting to international standards.”
A central element of the project is the development of a comprehensive national legal database. This intelligent platform will integrate all federal and local legislation, judicial decisions, executive directives, and public service protocols into a single, accessible system, ensuring government entities and citizens have seamless access to up-to-date legal information.
To oversee the rollout and ensure effective collaboration, a new Regulatory Intelligence Office will be established under the Cabinet’s General Secretariat. This office will coordinate efforts between federal and local government agencies, as well as private sector stakeholders.
The initiative aligns with the UAE’s ambition to position itself as a global leader in digital governance and innovative policymaking.
