Regional leaders across the Gulf and wider region issued strong statements of condemnation and expressed solidarity with the United Arab Emirates following recent developments that have heightened tensions. In their messages, they reaffirmed their support for the UAE’s leadership and its commitment to safeguarding citizens, residents, and national sovereignty. Several officials also stressed the importance of restraint, dialogue, and regional coordination to preserve stability and prevent further escalation.

Against this backdrop of heightened diplomatic engagement, UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan received a phone call from Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. During the call, the Saudi leader condemned the recent developments and affirmed “full solidarity with the UAE,” expressing readiness to provide “all possible support in response to any measures taken by the UAE,” according to the Emirates News Agency

The two leaders reiterated their shared commitment to protecting sovereignty and maintaining regional stability, highlighting diplomacy and cooperation as essential tools to ease tensions and ensure security across the Gulf.

Regional outreach extended beyond bilateral ties. Qatar conveyed a similar position. In a separate call, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan expressed concern over developments affecting Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, and other sisterly Arab states, emphasising the need for de-escalation and closer coordination to safeguard sovereignty and reinforce regional stability.

At the Gulf level, the response was equally firm. Jasem Mohamed Al-Budaiwi, Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, described the developments as unacceptable and a breach of international norms governing diplomatic missions, reiterating the bloc’s unified stance in defending the sovereignty and security of its member states. The GCC Ministerial Council also condemned actions affecting member states. It reaffirmed that the Council reserves its legal rights under Article 51 of the United Nations Charter to protect sovereignty, security and stability.

Inside the United Arab Emirates, officials highlighted readiness and resilience. Brigadier Staff Pilot Abdulnasir Alhameedi said UAE forces remain at high levels of operational readiness and that air-defence systems responded to incoming threats.

Reem bint Ebrahim Al Hashimy, Minister of State for International Cooperation, reaffirmed the United Arab Emirates’ sovereign right to self-defence in accordance with the United Nations Charter and international law. Abdulla bin Touq Al Marri, Minister of Economy, stressed that the national economy remains resilient, supported by flexible and forward-looking policies.

Recently, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan was seen walking through Dubai Mall alongside Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence. The appearance, in one of the country’s busiest public spaces, was widely viewed as a signal of confidence and normalcy. Shoppers and diners gathered briefly to greet the leaders, highlighting a sense of calm and continuity.

As regional consultations continue, authorities have emphasized public reassurance, service continuity, and community protection.
