As part of its broader strategy to lead in digital governance, the UAE has launched a groundbreaking AI-powered system to transform how the federal government tracks and improves performance. The initiative supports the country’s long-term vision of building a more agile, efficient, and future-ready public sector.

On Wednesday, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, announced the launch of the Proactive Government Performance System, which uses advanced AI algorithms to enhance decision-making, strategic planning, and the ability to anticipate emerging challenges and opportunities. He said the system reflects the government’s commitment to continuous improvement, adding that the UAE “strives for excellence and aspires for perfection,” and that ongoing development is essential for progress.

Launched in the presence of Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed, Minister Mohammed Al Gergawi, and Minister Omar Al Olama, the system can process over 150 million data points each month. It can generate more than 50,000 proactive insights annually and is expected to save over 250,000 work hours a year, ultimately driving a 60% improvement in overall government performance, according to the Dubai Media Office.

The system will enable real-time data analysis, performance tracking, and executive reporting to support high-level decision-making. The announcement follows last month’s decision to integrate the National Artificial Intelligence System as an advisory member of the UAE Cabinet starting January 2026.

The UAE has made AI a core part of its national agenda, appointing the world’s first Minister of State for AI in 2017 and establishing the Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence in 2019. The country also aims to become the first fully AI-powered government by 2027, as outlined in Abu Dhabi’s Digital Strategy 2025–2027.
