Visit Qatar officially kicked off its year-long partnership with the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre (NMACC) in Mumbai during a star-studded gala event, marking the collaboration between Qatar and India’s prominent cultural entities. The partnership aims to strengthen tourism ties and position Qatar as a top luxury destination for Indian travellers.
Dignitaries in attendance included His Excellency Mr. Saad bin Ali Al Kharji, Chairman of Qatar Tourism and Chair of the Board of Directors of Visit Qatar, and Eng. Abdulaziz Ali Al Mawlawi, Chief Executive Officer of Visit Qatar.
The event showcased a stunning Visit Qatar installation, featuring immersive LED displays of four iconic Qatari destinations: the Inland Sea, Souq Waqif, Museum of Islamic Art, and Richard Serra’s East-West/West-East in Zekreet. The sensory experience engaged guests with striking visuals, ambient fragrance, and surround sound audio, while offering bespoke postcards as mementos.
Celebrating the theme of “Confluence of Cultures,” the event highlighted shared values and cultural synergies between Qatar and India through curated artisan showcases, including traditional sadu weaving, Arabic calligraphy, and Indian crafts like brass nakshi and pichwai painting.
Guests enjoyed captivating performances by the Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra, making its debut in India, alongside renowned Indian Classical maestro, Rahul Sharma. The evening concluded with a unique fusion dining experience, reinforcing the cultural exchange between the two nations.
The partnership between Visit Qatar and NMACC serves as a long-term platform to enhance cultural exchange and promote Qatar as a premier destination for Indian travellers. By bringing Qatari heritage, art, and hospitality to India’s foremost cultural venue, the collaboration seeks to inspire travel and create immersive experiences that celebrate the connections between both nations.
