World Cup 2022 drives demand for private jets in Qatar
The 2022 FIFA Football World Cup will have a lot of people jet in and out of the match venues
The upcoming FIFA Foot World Cup 2022 will see a massive influx of domestic and international tourists traveling to the venues where the games will be played in Qatar.
Thanks to this, aviation companies in Doha now state that the inquiries for private jets have been at an all-time high. This demand seems to be more towards the business end of the tournament and has led various companies scrambling to arrange private jets during the period.
Earlier,Qatar Airways had announced that it would collaborate with other airlines, including, Flydubai, Kuwait Airways, Oman Air, and Saudia, to offer a match-day shuttle service during the World Cup for the super-rich and VIPs interested in catching up on the game.
DC Aviation Al-Futtaim (DCAF), a joint venture between Dubai-based conglomerate Al-Futtaim and Germany’s DC Aviation GmbH, is also experiencing a massive uptick in demand. Holger Ostheimer, DC Aviation Al-Futtaim’s Managing Director, confirmed the same in a press statement, “We have seen a sharp increase in inquiries for the later stages of the tournament from the first week of December until the finals, which take place on December 18.”
According to the company, the request seems to vary from a light 10-seater Falcon 2000 and a large-size cabin aircraft.
World Cup 2022 is scheduled to take place between November 21 to December 18. It will be one of the most significant marquee events to be hosted in the region. It will not only help raise Qatar’s profile in the international market but is said to add $18 billion to Qatar’s economy.
