Athlete and activist Dareen Barbar, who lost her leg at age 15, holds the Guinness World Record for the longest Samson’s chair sit, also known as a static wall sit, by a female contender. This marked the launch of the Guinness World Records Impairment Records Initiative, opening up opportunities for new record titles that people with impairments worldwide could create. Her many accolades and accomplishments include being the first Arab amputee to complete a super sprint in Dubai Women’s Triathlon 2018. In 2022, Dareen, a personal trainer, life coach, and TEDex speaker, made a rap song of her life story to encourage people struggling to keep going, no matter the odds.
