The UAE celebrated Emirati Women’s Day on Sunday under the theme of Inspiring Reality Sustainable Future. While the nation recognized the achievements of Emirati women, calling them active partners and a cornerstone for a more prosperous, sustainable future, the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) shared some interesting insights about the investments made by Emirati women.

ADX reports women in the region are leading by example in investments and have invested over $9.4 billion in the financial market from January to mid-August.

The investments made by these women have grown by 74.7% compared to the same period last year. The statement by ADX said, “Emirati women completed transactions over nine billion shares during the reference period, up 42 percent from 6.3 billion shares during the same period last year.”

The numbers reveal that 89.8%, or 219,000 of all the women trading in the exchange, are Emirati.
